Why does nobody talk about the cashier who shortchanged me $20 on purpose?
I was at a busy 7-Eleven off I-75 last Saturday grabbing coffee and gas. The girl behind the counter handed me change for a $50 when I gave her a $100 bill. I called her on it, and she just stared at me and said 'Oh, you sure?' like it was nothing. I stood there waiting for her to fix it, but she gave me this look that felt like she was testing to see if I'd let it slide. Has anyone else had a cashier try to pull something like that, or am I overthinking it?

That 7-Eleven on I-75 is shady, I used to think cashiers are always honest but that story changed my mind.

Did you actually see her pocket the money or did something else feel off?

Jumped in to say I'm the guy who once handed a cashier a $20 and argued with her for five minutes that I gave her a $50. Turns out my wallet just had two twenties. She was nice about it though, called me a sweet little dummy. So maybe I'm not the best judge of cashier honesty. But that stare she gave you sounds shady. Trust your gut. I always count my change out loud now, even if it makes me look paranoid.
