Changed my mind about taking the bus to work

I used to think taking Community Transit was a waste of time compared to driving. Then my buddy Dave pointed out I was spending $180 a month on parking alone downtown. He showed me his bus pass cost $68 for the whole month. I tried it for two weeks and found I could read or nap instead of stressing in traffic. Now I actually look forward to the morning commute. Has anyone else switched from driving to the bus around here?

Still figuring out if I can nap on a bus without drooling on strangers.

Metro 23 bus at 6pm yesterday I sat across from a guy who was full-on mouth open, head back, drool running down his chin onto his jacket. The person next to him moved seats twice. I get that you're tired but have some basic awareness. Keep a hoodie sleeve handy or sit in the back corner where nobody wants to sit anyway. Nobody signs up for a bus nap to become somebody else's unexpected shower situation.

Saw the exact same thing happen on the 42 bus last week except the guy was snoring loud enough that people were looking around to figure out where the noise was coming from. He had his mouth wide open and this little string of drool going from his lip down to his arm. I felt bad for the woman sitting next to him because she was clearly trying to read her book but kept having to glance over to make sure nothing was heading her direction. The worst part was when he jerked awake and wiped his mouth with his bare hand then just blinked at everyone like nothing happened. I don't get why people don't just lean against the window or use a bag or something. These bus naps turn into a whole public spectacle and nobody asked for that.
