I finally figured out why my car kept overheating at the Smokey Point Walmart lot

Sat there for 20 mins after shopping last Saturday watching steam pour out, then this old guy walks over and points out my radiator cap was loose. Anybody else had random strangers save them from a tow truck bill?

That loose cap trick almost got me once too. Sometimes the simplest stuff slips your mind when you're rushing through errands. Kind of makes you appreciate the random helpful folks out there.

Yeah it's funny how the little stuff like that is what gets you. I feel like we're all just running on autopilot half the time and our brains don't actually register the small things until something goes wrong. That cap thing is a perfect example, you've done it a thousand times without thinking and then one day you don't and suddenly you've got a mess in your bag. I notice it with keys too, people leave them hanging out of locks or on top of their cars way more than you'd expect. It's like the more comfortable we get with our routines the more we stop paying attention to the details. And yeah, random strangers being decent about it kinda restores your faith a little, even if it's just over something dumb like a bottle cap or a set of keys.
