The Everett Costco gas line last Tuesday was a whole new level of bad

I got there at 4:15 PM and the line was already wrapped around the building, took me 35 minutes just to get to a pump. Some dude in a huge truck tried to cut the line and blocked two lanes, which just made everything stop for like ten minutes. Has anyone else just given up on that station during the week and gone somewhere else?

Is waiting half an hour for gas really a big deal anymore? That just sounds like a normal Costco trip to me. People act like saving a few cents a gallon is some huge emergency. I just go when I'm already doing my shopping and accept the wait as part of the deal. If your time is that tight, maybe the extra cost at a regular station is worth it to avoid the hassle. Getting mad about a line there seems like choosing to be upset.

But what if you're just trying to get gas and not shop? Is it still worth it then, or does that change the math?

Half an hour isn't normal, hall.joel, that's a huge waste of time even if you're shopping. The math only works if you value your own time at zero.
