My friend in Denver said my photos always cut people's feet off
She pointed it out after looking at a bunch of pictures from a hike we did last fall. I started making a point to step back and check the whole frame before I click, and it's made a huge difference. Anyone else get a piece of simple feedback that totally fixed a bad habit?

My wife told me the same thing about my photos a few years back. I started counting to three in my head after I think I have the shot, just to double-check the edges of the frame. It forces you to slow down and actually see what's in the viewfinder. That tiny pause fixed my habit of chopping off feet and tree tops.

My brother does that with his phone camera now. He says it keeps him from taking blurry pictures of his kids.

My old point-and-shoot had this two-second shutter lag that drove me crazy. I missed so many good moments because the camera was still thinking when the action happened. I finally gave up and just started shooting video to grab stills from later.
