My old coffee grinder finally gave out this morning
It was a cheap blade grinder I bought in college, probably 12 years ago. The motor just made a sad humming noise and stopped. I had to use pre-ground stuff from the back of the cabinet, and it tasted flat and bitter. It made me realize how much that little morning ritual of grinding fresh beans actually starts my day right. Anyone have a good budget burr grinder they'd recommend under $80?

That moment when a simple tool breaks really shows how those small routines hold the day together. My own cheap grinder died last year, and the whole morning felt off until I replaced it. For around $80, the Baratza Encore is constantly on sale and was a total game-changer for me.

Yeah @milesk27 that "whole morning felt off" thing is so real. It's crazy how a broken tool can throw your whole rhythm off. A good grinder is worth every penny.

Every penny" is right but hang on. The Baratza Encore is usually more like $140-$150 new. Not $80. Even on sale you won't find it that cheap. Maybe refurbished or used? That's a big difference for someone on a budget. Just want folks to check current prices before they start planning. Good grinder advice though, totally agree on that part.

Ever notice how @milesk27's broken tool story is about control, not coffee?
