PSA: I used to obsess over making my bed every single morning

For years I thought a made bed was the secret to a productive day. I'd fluff pillows and pull the sheets tight before my coffee, even if I was running late. Then I read somewhere that the Japanese tradition of 'not airing out your bed' actually traps moisture and dust mites. Now I leave my blankets pulled back and just throw a sheet over the pillows, and honestly my room feels less like a hotel and more like a place I can actually relax. Has anyone else stopped making their bed and felt better for it?

I did the same thing for years and now I just leave the covers flipped back, it feels much more peaceful.

Flipping the covers back feels like admitting defeat to me, but I get why people like it. Maybe it's just me but I need that tucked-in feeling to sleep right. Quiet is nice and all, but I'd take a messy made bed over a peaceful one any night. Different strokes and all that.

Read a sleep doc say airing sheets cuts down on dust mites, same vibe @rose_reed.
