My dad always said the cheap ones bend just right for scraping. That guy saved you ten bucks.

Wait, your dad actually used those cheap scrapers? I'm shocked they don't just snap in half. @betty_wells, mine would always get a notch right at the edge and then just dig into the wood. I tried to scrape some old paint off a windowsill once and the whole thing bent into a useless U-shape. Had to go buy the stiff one anyway.

Honestly that bendy scraper move sounds like a dad superpower. I tried it once and just made a huge mess of the trim. Maybe you need like forty years of practice first.
