Can we talk about the time I kept a $50 bill I found in a parking lot versus returning it now
I pocketed it without a second thought back then, but after seeing a guy frantically searching his car for 'rent money' at a truck stop in Boise last month, I'd definitely try to find the owner first.

Notice how we all have these little moral lines that shift over time. I used to find cash and just keep it, but after seeing that guy in Boise, I get what @the_jennifer is asking. It's like we weigh the hassle of finding the owner against the guilt of keeping it, and that balance changes with every lost item.

But what if you couldn't find the owner?

Yeah, that's the real issue. At some point you just have to let it go and accept your new collection of stuff.

What do you think my garage is full of? I've got a drawer of lost pens and a shelf of mystery keys... at this point I'm basically running a lost and found for inanimate objects. I guess the stuff just becomes mine after a while, which explains the three umbrellas. Honestly, it's a problem.
