Finally got my neighbor to actually talk to me instead of just waving after 8 months of living here
I tried that whole 'ask for a cup of sugar' trick I read about online and it worked way better than I expected, but now I feel weird about whether I actually needed the sugar or if I just manipulated her into a conversation.

Honestly don't overthink it. That's just the universal starter move everyone uses to break the ice, you didn't scam her or anything.
