Found a wallet with $200 cash at the bus stop last week.

Took it to the lost and found at the main station. They said they'd hold it for 30 days. Felt right, but part of me still wonders if I should have just left it there. What would you have done?

Felt right" is the key part. I used to think finders keepers, but losing my own wallet once changed my mind. You did the decent thing.

Did you see that story about the returned wallet on the news?

Honestly, the real story is how many wallets DON'T get returned. That "felt right" feeling gets ignored when people are stressed or broke. It's a quiet test of character most of us fail.

Yeah, that "quiet test of character" line hits hard. Ngl, I was totally a finders keepers person when I was younger. Then I lost my whole backpack with my wallet and keys on a bus. Getting it all back from the driver the next day, nothing missing, it just flipped a switch in me. Now I get that returning stuff isn't about being a hero, it's just about not making someone's worst day even worse.
