I spent $40 on a meal delivery for my sick neighbor and it felt better than buying myself something nice.

It made me wonder, is spending money on others to make yourself feel good still a truly good thing, or is it a bit selfish?

Does the good feeling maybe just be a nice bonus?

Betty_wells has it right, that good feeling is just the bonus on top. I felt the same way when I sent my sister flowers for no reason.

Worry we're overthinking this a bit. It's just flowers, not a life changing event. Feels like we're making it deeper than it is.

dude 100% agree. I picked up groceries for my elderly neighbor last week and the smile on her face was way better than any new shirt or game I could've bought myself. That good feeling just hits different when you see it land on someone else.
