Saw a guy at the grocery store put a dented can back on the shelf and it got me thinking
I was in the canned goods aisle last week and watched a guy pick up a can of beans, notice a small dent, and just slide it back behind the front row. In my experience, that's a common move, but it's wrong. That dented can could have a tiny breach, letting in bacteria that causes botulism, which is no joke. The right thing is to give it to a store worker so they can damage it out. It matters because the next person, maybe in a rush or not looking close, might grab it and get really sick. Has anyone else seen this happen, and what did you do?

Ugh, that's so lazy. @grays13 is right about the time thing, but it's also just pure selfishness. Someone could actually get hurt from that.

Yeah that "saving themselves two minutes" thing hits. What do you think makes someone decide their time is worth more than a stranger's safety?

It's a weirdly selfish move when you think about it. They're saving themselves two minutes of hassle at the risk of someone else's health. I always take the dented can to the checkout and hand it over.
