Serious question, I used to think returning a slightly worn item was fine.

Overheard a cashier at Target tell her coworker a returned dress smelled like smoke and had to be thrown out. Now I check everything twice before I buy. What's the actual return policy line for you guys?

My buddy manages a Kohl's and says they trash about 20% of returns. The system is built for some loss, and honest mistakes happen. If you wore it once and it didn't work out, that's what the policy is for. That dress was an extreme case, not the norm.

Yeah, @charles_mitchell is right about the system expecting some loss. Just don't be the smoke smell dress person.
