I was at a little league game in Springfield and overheard two dads talking about their 529 plans. It made me finally open one for my kid.

Isn't it funny how a random chat can push you to finally do it? I opened one after hearing my cousin talk about it at a barbecue. Best decision ever, it feels so good to have it started!

My cousin's barbecue story got me to open one too, three years back.

Remember when people said you should just put money in a regular savings account? I used to believe that. Hearing a total stranger at the park talk about how much his kid's 529 had already grown, just from putting in a little each month, totally flipped a switch for me. It made it feel real, not just some finance thing. I started one that week.
