I was at the vintage market in Asheville yesterday and saw a girl wearing a dress made from old band t-shirts.
It was pieced together like a quilt, with the sleeves from a Metallica shirt and the main body from a faded Nirvana one, which made me think about how we used to just cut up shirts for a DIY look, but now people are designing whole garments from them.

My cousin found a perfect 1991 Guns N' Roses shirt at a yard sale for two dollars. He turned it into a pillow. A pillow. I just stared at it. I get what @angela_harris means about the stories in them. That shirt could have been at a show, you know? It feels like losing a piece of proof that it all really happened.

Remember my friend who cut up his dad's old Zeppelin shirt for a patch?

@parkerbrown that "old Zeppelin shirt" story still gets me. Cutting up a vintage band tee is just a crime... those things are history. I get wanting a cool patch, but man, go buy some denim at the thrift store instead. That shirt had stories in it.
