Bamboo fence panels warping in humid conditions

Put in a bamboo fence for a customer near the coast. It was supposed to be a sustainable pick. After a few months, the humidity made the panels swell and bend. Now I have to replace it all with pressure-treated wood. Always check how materials handle local weather.

Listen to @the_thea, sealed bamboo works fine if you install it right.

But wait, isn't bamboo known for handling wet climates pretty well? I've seen it used in rainy areas without these issues. Maybe the problem was untreated bamboo or a bad installation job. Pressure-treated wood isn't some magic fix, it can still crack and harm the soil. Why not look into sealed bamboo options first before switching? Seems like giving up on sustainability too easy.

My uncle tried bamboo decking in Portland and it warped so bad you could trip on the boards. Sealing it sounds good, but that's just putting a band-aid on a broken leg. Sure, treated wood isn't perfect, but at least it doesn't turn into a science experiment after one storm.

Sealed bamboo worked for my deck in rainy season.
