Finished a 300-foot cedar fence in two days flat

Honestly, this past Tuesday and Wednesday were just perfect. The weather held, my crew showed up early, and we had zero issues with the ground on that new build in Oak Hill. We pre-cut all the pickets Monday night and used my old Makita impact driver for every single screw. Ngl, the client came out on the second afternoon and just said 'You guys work like a machine.' Has anyone else had one of those dream runs where everything just clicks?

Work like a machine" is the best feeling, but my version of that is when my coffee maker works on the first try. Seriously though, that's awesome. I had a day like that last month and spent the whole next week waiting for the other shoe to drop. It never feels real when a big job goes that smooth.

Wait, does it really feel that good? I mean, working like a machine sounds kind of empty to me. If everything is just perfect and smooth, where's the human part? The mess is what makes a win feel real. That feeling of waiting for the other shoe to drop is probably your gut saying it was too easy. Maybe a big job should have some friction, or it doesn't really count.

Nah, smooth jobs still feel totally human.
