I finally had a client in Denver ask for a 6-foot vinyl fence last week, but their HOA rules only allow 4-foot wood. Do you stick to the code or try to get an exception for them?

Always check with the HOA first, they make the rules.

Sometimes those rules need to be challenged, not just followed.

But what happens when the HOA rules are just plain wrong, @the_jana? I mean, some of them seem to go way too far over basic property rights. Maybe it's just me, but that power needs a real check sometimes.
