Just checked the lumber prices for a basic 6 foot privacy fence today

I was pricing out a job for a customer in Bakersfield and the treated pine 2x4s jumped $3 a board since last fall. That adds up to an extra $180 on a standard 150 foot run. Has anyone else seen these random price spikes messing up your bids?

Ran into the same thing while grabbing wood for a shed ramp last week. Stood there staring at the price tag like it was gonna change if I blinked hard enough.

Wondering if maybe the price tags just caught you off guard. I've been seeing lumber prices bounce around for years now, and it's never as bad as folks make it out to be once you step back and think about it. Could be worse, you know.
