Just got back from a trip to Savannah and saw a fence that made me stop the car

It was a long privacy fence on a corner lot, maybe 150 feet total. What got me was the gate setup. Instead of a single big gate, they had three smaller, staggered gates along the side, each about 4 feet wide. It looked really sharp and seemed to solve the problem of getting big yard equipment through without one giant, heavy panel. I'd never seen that done on a residential job before. Has anyone else built a fence with multiple access points like that? I'm curious if it's more work than it's worth for the average homeowner.

That's a really smart design. It feels like we're finally moving past the idea that everything has to be one big, heavy, single-purpose thing. You see it with furniture now too, like sectionals you can rearrange instead of a giant couch that blocks the whole room. Breaking a big problem into smaller, lighter parts just makes sense. For a fence, three smaller gates probably swing easier and last longer than one monster one. More work up front maybe, but less hassle every single time you need to get a mower through.

My old laptop bag was like that, just one giant pocket.

Exactly, and have you seen those modular toolboxes? I used to have one big chest that was a pain to move, but now I've got three smaller ones that lock together. I can take just the one with the sockets if that's all I need, instead of hauling the whole thing across the garage.
