Warning: I thought those new composite fence posts were just a fad
A client in Springfield insisted on them for a 150-foot run last fall, and I was sure they'd be flimsy. After a full winter with heavy snow and ice, they haven't budged or warped a bit, while my usual cedar posts in the same area have shifted. Has anyone else put these through a real test over a couple of seasons?

So much for my expert opinion, huh? I told my neighbor they'd snap like a twig in a stiff wind. Now his look perfect and my old wood ones are leaning like they're trying to sneak out of the ground. Guess I'll be eating my words with a side of crow this spring.

Admit you were wrong and offer to help him fix yours. That way you get better posts and he gets to watch you sweat. It's the neighborly thing to do.

Well, that's a solid plan right there. Nothing fixes a bad guess like some good old hard work. Bet your neighbor would get a real kick out of watching the repair job. Sometimes you just have to laugh at yourself and grab a shovel.
