Only my from-scratch kraut showed up to our ferment party
Everyone else brought fancy bottled stuff from the store. I get that it's easy, but the whole joy is in making it yourself. Are we just giving up on learning how to do this?

Remember when I thought fermenting was just a weird food trend? But after making my own hot sauce, I get it now. The whole messy, slow process is what makes it yours.

Ugh, that's the worst feeling. You put in all that time letting it sit, getting the salt right, and then it's just a wall of fancy store kombucha and pickles. Half the fun is the wait, the weird smells, the whole process. Feels like we're losing the actual skill for just... buying a jar.
