I finally figured out why my tax refund was so small this year
I was doing my taxes last month in my home office and saw my refund was only $200. I looked at my W-2 and realized my job had me set up as 'single' with zero allowances, so they were taking out way too much all year. I went online and filled out a new W-4 form to fix my withholding. Has anyone else had to adjust theirs after a big tax surprise?

I saw a news story last year about a family in Ohio that got a $300 water bill because of a running toilet they didn't know about. The utility company said it was a common issue. They had to show proof of a plumber's repair to get an adjustment on the bill. It's crazy how a small leak can add up so fast.

Did they at least get the full adjustment after jumping through that hoop... or did the utility still make them pay some huge "wastewater fee" or something? Seems like they always find a way to keep most of the money even when it's their own faulty meter or a hidden leak.

Three hundred dollars for a toilet leak is insane. I mean, you'd think they'd just take your word for it and not make you get a plumber's note.
