My bank's new app update completely broke my budget tracking last month

They rolled out a 'simplified' interface that removed the export to CSV feature I used every Friday. I had three years of transaction data in my own spreadsheet and suddenly couldn't update it. I spent two hours on hold with support only to be told it was a 'planned removal'. Anyone else had their financial workflow wrecked by an app 'upgrade' and found a decent workaround?

Ugh, that's so frustrating. Honestly, I started taking screenshots of my monthly summary page and manually typing the numbers into a Google Sheet. It's a pain, but at least I still have my own record. Might be worth checking if the website version still has the export option, mine did for a bit.

Actually, I can see why they'd kill the export feature (it probably costs them money to keep it running for a small group of users). Most people just look at the charts in the app now, they don't need raw data files. It's a pain for us, but from their side, it's just cutting a feature hardly anyone uses anymore.

Planned removal" my foot, that's just corporate for "we don't care." My old budgeting app did the same thing, killed the desktop sync out of nowhere. I had to manually copy everything for a month before I found a new one.
