My uncle told me to put everything in crypto back in 2021

He kept saying it was the future and I was missing out. I threw $500 into some random coin he recommended and watched it triple in a week. Then it crashed hard a month later and I sold at a $200 loss. Has anyone else had family push them into something that went south?

My buddy's dad pushed him into a "sure thing" stock that tanked, kinda like what @mason_lopez said about picking the wrong coin.

Your uncle wasn't wrong about the future, he was wrong about your timing and choice of coin. The tech behind a lot of crypto is solid, it's just volatile. You bought a random pump and dump instead of something with real use. That's on you for not doing your own research.

Wait, he called a random coin a "pump and dump" to his own nephew? That's harsh.
