The Tuesday I lost a client and found a better one in the same hour

Last Tuesday, a big client in Chicago called to cancel their account, which was about $5,000 a month. I was pretty down about it. Then, not even an hour later, a referral from an old colleague called with a project that ended up being worth more. Has anyone else had a wild swing like that where things looked bad but turned around fast?

Tell me about it. I just tripped over my own feet while reading this.

Right? Last week I dropped my phone in a puddle while telling my friend how careful I am with my stuff. It landed screen up in the only inch of water on the whole sidewalk.

Oh man, that's just classic. The universe is a total troll, isn't it? You're out here bragging about being careful and it's like, "Hold my beer, watch this." That puddle probably wasn't even there five minutes before you walked by. It's always the one tiny spot of water that somehow has your phone's name on it. I swear, being too confident is like asking for a cosmic slap in the face. Hope your phone survived the drama, but honestly, the embarrassment is probably the real damage.
