Just spent 4 hours on a single plank of this herringbone vinyl...

The click system on this new brand kept popping out at the corner every single time I tried to lock it in. I finally had to trim the locking lip with a razor knife and use a dab of glue to hold it. Has anyone else had this happen with the 'ProLock' stuff from that big box store?

Did you check if the planks were warped before you started?

That "bad locking system" line hits home. I once spent a weekend trying to install a floor that just would not stay clicked, and it turned out the whole batch had a molding defect. Sometimes the product is just wrong from the start.

Trimming the locking lip sounds like a last resort, but sometimes you just have to make it work. Miles_burns has a point about checking for warping, but a bad locking system can be the real problem even with perfect planks. That ProLock stuff seems to have more marketing than quality, doesn't it? I had a similar fight with a different brand where the click just would not hold.
