Watch out, counting on quick adhesive drops for floor installations has led to some nasty surprises lately (from a guy who drives past supply houses all day).

Ugh, sam_ward5's story about tiles lifting just gave me flashbacks to my laundry room wallpaper. Used the wrong paste for a "quick fix," woke up to a corner slowly peeling off the wall like a creepy poster in a haunted house. The whole sheet just sighed and slid down overnight in the humidity.

Man, tell me about it. I learned that lesson the hard way when I tried to speed-run my bathroom floor last fall. Woke up the next day to this weird clicky sound underfoot, and by week's end three tiles were doing their own little elevator impression in the corner. Felt like the floor was alive. My 'time-saving' move cost me a whole weekend redoing it with the proper trowel and patience.

Actually found that notched trowel makes things worse sometimes if you're not careful. Got way more air bubbles in my own kitchen backsplash using one... ended up smoothing it out by hand in the end.

What's with the hype on instant adhesives? Tried a tube for a quick bathroom fix, and it held for about a week. Then the tile popped off like a cartoon spring. So much for saving time.
