A talk with a wedding planner about flower budgets really shifted my thinking

I was working on a big wedding order last week, and the planner, Sarah, asked me to break down the cost for each centerpiece. She said, 'If I tell the couple this is $80 for the table, they see a thing. If I say it's $8 per guest for a memory they'll keep, it feels different.' I've always just given a total price. Now I'm trying to show the value per person for events, not just per arrangement. It's a small change, but it makes the flowers feel more personal. Has anyone else tried pricing things this way for their clients?

My dentist charges per tooth, not per visit.

Ugh, that just sounds like a sneaky way to make things seem cheaper though.

What's the sneaky part, @mia700... like they hide the real cost until later?

Feel like I've fallen for that trick more times than I'd care to admit. My bank account is basically a monument to hidden fees.
