Changed my mind about using oasis foam for every single arrangement

I was prepping a large centerpiece for a wedding in Portland and the bride specifically wanted a loose, garden-style look. After wrestling with a brick of foam for twenty minutes, my assistant just handed me a roll of chicken wire and said 'try this, it's what they used at the studio I trained at in Amsterdam'. The structure was perfect and the stems had way more natural movement. How many of you have switched away from foam for certain designs?

Oh man, I felt that foam wrestling match. I used to be such a foam loyalist I probably looked like I was trying to build a fort. @davis.noah is right, chicken wire just lets things breathe.

Switched to chicken wire for loose stuff years ago. Foam just kills the vibe.

Totally get that foam loyalty but @davis.noah is right, chicken wire just makes those garden styles look so much more alive.
