I always thought foam-free designs were just a trend, but my shop in Tampa proved me wrong.

For a while, I kept seeing posts about ditching floral foam and thought it was just people being extra. I mean, foam holds water, it's cheap, and it makes big arrangements stable, right? Then a bride last spring specifically asked for a foam-free wedding arch, citing environmental concerns. I was worried it would wilt or fall apart in the humidity. We used chicken wire and water tubes instead, and honestly, it held up better than foam ever did through the entire outdoor ceremony. The stems had actual water access, so everything stayed fresher. It took about 20% longer to build, but the client was so happy she posted a ton of photos. Now I offer it as a standard option. Has anyone else made the switch and found it actually works better than they expected?

It's like the plastic straw ban all over again.

Feels like we keep getting these small fixes that don't really solve the big problem.

Yeah, I just started focusing on the root cause instead.
