My shop's books showed we'd done 10,000 weddings and I had to sit down

I was cleaning out old files and added up all our wedding invoices from the past 25 years. The total came to exactly 10,002. It hit me that each number was a couple's big day, from simple bouquets in the 90s to the huge installations we do now. I remember when a rose garland was fancy, and now we're building floral arches taller than me. Has anyone else had a moment like that, where the sheer number of events you've done just stops you?

Remember that time gas was under two bucks a gallon? Feels like a story from another planet now. I saw a price like that on an old receipt and just stared at it. Makes you wonder what else we got used to without even noticing.

Seriously though, is it that big a deal? Prices go up on everything over time, it's just how stuff works. People always get hung up on gas but forget wages change too.
