I gave up on being a marine biologist after failing my first oceanography midterm in college, and now I just feel kind of empty about it.

I was in a lecture hall at UC Santa Cruz, staring at a test question about thermohaline circulation that I absolutely could not answer, and I just knew my dream was over right then.

That "well that's it" feeling @sage308 mentioned, what did you do right after the test?

Ugh I felt that. I dropped pre-med after bombing organic chem, that same "well that's it" moment is brutal lol.

My friend had that same thing happen in her architecture program... she just walked out of the final review, called her mom, and switched majors the next day. That "well that's it" feeling @sage308 mentioned is so real.

and the craziest part is how fast that switch flips. like one minute you're all in on this whole future you mapped out and the next you just know it's not it. my sister did the same thing with nursing school, walked out of clinicals and never looked back.
