Saw something at the old community center that hit different

Went to drop off some old towels at the donation bin. Walked past the art room. Saw a dusty piano in the corner. Had a sign on it from 2018 for a kids' music program that got canceled. Just sat there. Made me think about all the stuff we stop doing. Anyone else see a place that just screams 'forgotten dream'?

Ugh, my whole garage is basically a museum of that. There's a half-finished birdhouse from a lockdown woodworking phase that's just collecting spiderwebs now. I mean, I was gonna be so handy.

Oh man, I feel that. My garage has a sad, dusty puzzle from that same time.

That dusty piano is a whole mood. My local rec center still has a sign up for an adult kickball league that died in 2019. It's like a little ghost town of good ideas. Makes you wonder what future people will find and feel sad about.

Yeah, that "museum of that" feeling is real. I had a whole shelf of untouched yarn from when I was gonna learn to knit. Felt bad every time I saw it. So I just gave it all to the library's craft group last month. Seeing that empty shelf was a huge relief. It's okay to let the stuff go so someone else can actually use it.
