DAE get gas holes in their casts? I traced mine to old degassing tablets.

Honestly, I was so fed up with every aluminum pour coming out full of tiny holes. Tbh, I tried everything from adjusting the furnace heat to changing the sand mix. Ngl, it hit me that our degassing tablets were way past their date. Giving the metal a proper stir with new tablets right before pouring cleared it right up.

Why do expired things always cause the worst surprises?

Ever wonder if the surprise is just stuff breaking down into things it was never meant to be? Like, expiration is a slow chemical rebellion nobody told you about. You're not fixing a product, you're fighting its decay.

Had the same trouble with casts full of tiny holes. It's crazy how old degassing tablets can mess up a pour like that. What other things have you tried to stop the gas holes?

Yeah, like my whole garage is a museum of failed experiments now. Tried warming the mold, stirring slower, even this weird vibrating table idea. Honestly, at this point I'm half convinced the gas holes are just part of the resin's personality, like it's choosing to be Swiss cheese. Next time I get a bad batch, I might just skip the pour and bury the bottles in the backyard as a warning to the others.
