Can we talk about the coffee shop in Austin that's basically a free coworking spot?

Honestly, I was at this place called Spokesman on South Lamar last week and it was full of freelancers. Ngl, I saw at least 15 people with laptops, and they had tons of outlets and free wifi that actually worked. The barista told me they don't mind people staying for hours as long as you buy a coffee or two. It got me thinking about how much money I save not renting an office. Has anyone else found a spot like this in their city?

My buddy saw a guy take a Zoom call in a Philly cafe bathroom for better wifi.

Totally get this vibe, it's like the new normal for how people work now. My whole friend group basically runs their side hustles from coffee shops and brewery patios. Places are catching on that a few laptop campers buying drinks all day is better than empty tables. Kinda wild how the whole idea of an office just melted away for so many people.

Watch my local coffee shop turn into a silent office by 9 AM. You hear nothing but typing and the occasional sigh when the wifi drops. Saw a guy set up three monitors next to the pastry case last week. We're all just paying rent in lattes now.

Did that guy with the three monitors at least buy a croissant to pay his visual rent? @the_jennifer, my local spot started putting timers on the outlets during lunch hour, so now the sighing is perfectly scheduled.
