Seeing my aunt's face light up when she held my first decent paperweight

I let my aunt hold the paperweight I just finished. She asked how I got the bubbles to look so even, and I explained the cooling process. Do you find that showing your work to non-glassblowers helps you see it in a new way?

Did my friend's kid spot a bubble pattern in his paperweight we all missed?

Seriously, @max361, kids notice EVERYTHING we miss in daily life.

Honestly though, is it really noticing everything, or just different things? Kids see the small stuff like bubbles, but they miss the big picture stuff all the time. I notice a ton of details in my daily life that just aren't interesting to a kid. Tbh, it feels less like they see more and more like they just care about different, simpler things.

My buddy's daughter pointed out a tiny chip in his favorite mug he's had for years. He looks at that thing every morning and never saw it, but she spotted it right away. Guess it's not about caring more, just having fresh eyes for old stuff.
