Tried walking backwards on the treadmill for 10 minutes and my knees felt different

I saw this PT video about backwards walking for joint health and figured why not. Did 10 minutes at a slow pace last Tuesday and my knees actually felt less stiff the rest of the day. I thought it was some gimmick but my usual knee pops after sitting didn't happen for like 5 hours. Has anyone else gotten relief from doing weird treadmill stuff like this?

Honestly the whole backwards walking thing reminds me of how we never move backwards in normal life anymore. Everyone's always rushing forward but never taking a step back to reset their joints. Tbh it's like the body needs that opposite motion to balance out all the forward slouching and sitting we do all day.

3 miles an hour for 10 minutes seems pretty mild. My old PT said the main benefit is from going faster for longer, like 15-20 minutes at a brisk pace. I tried it a few times back in 2021 and honestly my knees just felt more tired, not less stiff. Maybe you just needed a day off from pounding the pavement.

Fair point but going slow and steady has worked way better for me personally.
