My buddy taught me to tug-test each knot.

Always triple-check my carabiner before rappelling.

Check my rope for any wear before I even tie in. @skyler_jackson27's carabiner tip really drives home the need for a full gear check.

After a close call, what extra step do you now always do? I say my gear checks out loud, even solo, to catch mistakes.
