My journaling habit backfired and I'm not sure it's for everyone

I kept a daily log to cope with warehouse job pressures, but it made me fixate on negative thoughts. On one side, talking about feelings is seen as healthy, on the other, it can trap you in a loop. I quit my routine and found less overthinking helped my mood more. Has anyone else found that too much mental work adds stress? I'd like to hear different takes.

Sometimes trying to fix every thought just digs the hole deeper.

Fix the worst thoughts before they make things worse.

Digs the hole deeper" is so true. I used to be all about fixing every bad thought right away. But then I spent a whole weekend picking apart why I felt awkward at some party, and honestly I just made myself feel worse. Now I see sometimes you just gotta leave the thought alone and let it fade.

Watched a friend spiral rewriting the same bad day.
