Observing the rise of clear thermal paste application tutorials in recent guides

I always just globbed on paste without much thought until a guide emphasized thin, even spreads. Mastering that technique dropped my CPU temps by several degrees under load, which was pretty eye-opening lol. Are more people prioritizing these small but impactful details from guides now?

Watch us turn into surgeons over thermal paste, with spread techniques debated like art criticism. @janabell's pea-sized dot method is the minimalist school of thought (which honestly seems less stressful). Next we'll have gallery exhibitions for the most elegant paste applications.

Consider using a pea-sized dot to avoid air bubbles from manual spreading.

Reminds me of when I tried to apply a screen protector without any bubbles. Followed all the tutorials, used a credit card to smooth it out, but still ended up with a tiny speck of dust underneath. Had to peel it off and start over, wasting that expensive film. Now I do it in the bathroom after a hot shower for the steam to settle particles. What's your worst DIY disaster?

That hinge method with a piece of tape is a lifesaver. Peel back half, align it perfectly, then use the tape like a hinge to lower it slowly while you swipe with the card. Still use the steamy bathroom trick for the dust though, the frustration of that one trapped particle is unreal.
