Why I stopped treating my shower as a think tank
Always thought showers were for big ideas. Tried to solve everything under the water. Just made me anxious. Now I just stand there. Things make sense when I stop forcing it.

The hot water just feels better now.

Recognize the comfort in that, @jason_lewis3. Hot water has a way of melting away tension. It's a small luxury we should all indulge in.

At my gym, the trainer mentioned hot water can worsen swelling in fresh injuries. Cold therapy is better for sudden muscle tension. I use an ice pack on stiff shoulders for 10 minutes. Heat is better for old, recurring aches.

Actually, the cold pack point from earlier makes a lot of sense for new soreness. That immediate hot shower feels great like Jason said, but it can sometimes make fresh inflammation worse. After a tough workout, icing a sore knee for fifteen minutes does more for me than heat. Save the hot bath for those old, stubborn aches that just won't quit.
