I finally got a skincare compliment from my barista

Ngl, when she said my glow was noticeable, I was thrilled. It's nice when someone notices the effort.

Totally get that! I had a similar glow after cooking ramen, but it was all kitchen steam. After reading @the_matthew's fan tip, I started using one too, and it's a game-changer. Now my compliments are actually from skincare, not my stove!

That "noticeable glow" comment is the best. I got one once and had to confess it was just my kitchen humidity from boiling pasta.

Keep a small fan on the kitchen counter whenever you're boiling pasta or potatoes. I learned that the hard way after my skincare routine got completely undone by steam. Now I turn it on low, aimed away from the stove but towards the room, to circulate air without blowing out the flame. It cuts down on that glossy, humid look instantly. You can even time it to run for an extra ten minutes after cooking to clear the air. Makes a huge difference in keeping your face from feeling like a steamed dumpling.

Isn't steam actually beneficial, @the_matthew?
