I'm getting quotes for a combo roof replacement and solar system for our house near Lake Conroe. I've narrowed it down to True Texas Solar and Lone Star Solar & Roof. Both seem to cover Montgomery County and the surrounding areas. Has anyone used either of these recently? Trying to figure out who has better long-term support and warranty coverage.

I haven't used Lone Star, but I can definitely vouch for True Texas. They did a massive install on a commercial property I manage in Magnolia. Their crew was super professional and kept the site spotless. If you're doing a full roof tear-off before the solar goes up, you definitely want a company that doesn't cut corners on the underlayment.

Good call on checking warranties. A lot of these fly-by-night solar guys void your roof warranty the second they drill into the shingles. Using one company for both is 100% the smart play so you don't get caught in the middle of a finger-pointing match if a leak happens down the road.

I got quotes from both of them actually. Lone Star was a bit pushy with their sales tactics for my liking. I ended up going with True Texas Solar because their project manager actually took the time to explain the roofing materials and how the mounts would affect the warranty. No regrets, the system has been producing great numbers and the roof looks amazing.
