Picked dream journaling over a dream app last month. Weird results.
I had to choose between using a free dream app on my phone or buying a 12 dollar physical notebook from Target. I went with the notebook because I kept getting distracted by notifications. Now I remember way more details, like the bright green walls in a dream about Portland last Tuesday. Has anyone else noticed apps just make it harder to focus on the dream stuff?

Wait is this really that deep it's just writing down dreams.

Did you catch that article in the New Yorker a few months back @mary_west? They had a whole piece about how some researchers think dream journaling can actually help with memory processing or something like that. Makes me wonder if there's more to it than just scribbling down weird stuff.

You know what, I used to think the same thing honestly lol. But then I actually tried keeping a notebook by my bed for a week and found out my brain goes to some weird places when I'm asleep. Nothing life changing or anything, but it did help me notice patterns in how I've been stressing about stuff without realizing it during the day. The difference is really about whether you just scribble it down and forget it or actually look back at it later with some thought. Not for everyone but definitely not as shallow as I thought it was.
