Rant: Blew $350 on a meal kit subscription I never should have started
Tbh I fell for one of those HelloFresh ads during a late night scroll and signed up without thinking. I told myself it would save me time and help me cook fancy meals at home. Three weeks in I had a fridge full of wilting herbs and packs of seasoning I'll never use again. The recipes took twice as long as they said and I ended up ordering takeout anyway. After I finally canceled, I added up what I spent and it came to $350 for maybe four meals I actually ate. Such a waste of money for something that just created more stress. Has anyone else gotten tricked by these subscription boxes that sound good but just cost you?

Pissed $200 away on the same thing last year. Never again.

Whoa, hold up, I gotta disagree a little here. I actually liked HelloFresh for the few months I had it, but you gotta treat it like a tool, not a magic fix. Yeah, the prep times are a lie, but I found if you just cook the stuff the day it arrives it's way less of a hassle. Maybe it just wasn't your thing, but for me having the ingredients right there stopped me from ordering pizza every other night.

Oh man, I feel your pain. I got suckered by one of those Blue Apron things a couple years back and it was the same deal - wilted herbs and a bunch of little garlic cloves I'm still finding in my pantry. What ended up working for me was just buying my own groceries and sticking to three or four simple recipes I actually liked, no fancy boxes needed.
