PSA: the "quick yes" at work is never quick, took me 3 weeks to untangle one

Ngl, I told my boss I'd "just handle" a simple favor for another team last month, and it turned into 14 emails, 2 meetings, and a full rewrite of their onboarding doc, has anyone else had a five minute favor swallow their whole week?

Ugh, tell me about it. I said I'd "take a quick look" at a spreadsheet for a coworker once, and three days later I was still fixing their broken formulas. It's like the second you say yes, the whole thing multiplies into a monster. Someone asks for a tiny favor and suddenly you're the unofficial project manager for their mess. That "quick yes" is a trap, plain and simple.
