Can we talk about choosing between a gas mower and a reel mower for the sake of the air?
I stood in the hardware store in Boise for 20 minutes trying to pick between a $180 reel mower and a $320 gas one, mostly thinking about what my little lawn is putting into the air. Went with the reel, and after 3 weeks my arms hurt but the yard looks fine and I do not miss the smell of exhaust. Anyone else switched to manual tools for this reason, or am I just making my Saturdays harder for nothing?
All that worry about what your little lawn is putting into the air seems a bit much when you think about how tiny one yard is next to every car and factory out there. I get wanting to cut back on exhaust but your push mower saves maybe a gallon of gas a year while a single flight to Denver burns way more. Do what you want with your Saturdays but the air is not gonna notice either way.
