Found a simple way to cut my food waste in half
I got sick of throwing out soggy lettuce and rotten produce every week. It felt like half my grocery bill was going straight to the trash. So I started grouping my fridge into sections by how fast stuff goes bad. Berries and leafy greens go on the eye level shelf, root veggies and apples go lower down. I also started writing the date I bought each item on the package with a sharpie. After about a month of this, I dropped my food waste down by maybe 60 percent. It's not fancy, but it actually works for me. Has anyone else tried a system like this that helped with your own waste guilt?

Toss it if it smells bad, that's all you need.

My July 2022 Greek yogurt is still going strong. Best decision I ever made was ignoring dates and trusting my gut instead.
